Jardín Botánico Beijing Perennial Garden

Built in 1980, the garden covers an area of 4.2 hectares, which primarily cultivates perennial plants. The whole garden is divided into Exhibition Section, Scented Plant Section, Medicinal Herb Section, Hilly Region, and Indigenous Plant Section. At present, over 100 species of perennials are from the families of Asteraceae, Liliaceae, Iridaceae, Amaryllidaceae and Ranunculaceae, etc., which bloom from spring to autumn. This garden is designed in a symmetrical pattern with crossroads in it. The petrified-wood with potted landscape in the center of the garden is precious. With a favorable micro-climate, bamboo groves have been planted in the northern part, dotted with such ornamental trees as persimmon, Chinese flower quince, crab-apple, ginkgo, and decorated with new garden plants like maple. Together with perennials, they form a colorful plant landscape. With flower beds, rocks and water, the garden becomes a unique, harmonious entity within the botanical garden.
